I had the chance of working with Marcel Ceramic to develop a visual identity that embodies the essence of their spontaneous craft. This project aimed to align the brand’s identity with the client’s artistic vision, exploring shapes and colors in her creations. Marcel Ceramic represents a quest for creative fulfillment, transforming raw clay into objects that exude wonder and surprise.

A key inspiration for the brand is the heritage of the founder's grandfather, Marcel, whose pyrography and paintings deeply influenced the creative direction : a naive charm & modern touch. The color palette draws from enamel tones before and after firing, featuring pastels and vibrant hues, echoing the watercolors and gouaches of Marcel’s artworks. The logo employs Futura Passata, an experimental uppercase typeface that combines two widths of a woodcut version to create a distinctive, irregular horizontal rhythm reminiscent of the movement of handcrafted ceramics. This typographic choice also nods to pyrography, ensuring a cohesive and impactful visual identity. In short, this branding project for Marcel Ceramic was designed to honor its rich heritage and visually convey its storytelling and emotional appeal.
